Feria del Barrio
Celebrating 25 Years of Art, Education and Community
FERIA DEL BARRIO serves as one of Philadelphia's largest celebrations of Latino music and culture -- the only one celebrated in the heart of the Latino community. Feria del Barrio is a free family outdoor festival for the entire family, Latinos and non-Latinos alike, featuring children's activities, arts, crafts and some of Latin America's most renowned musical artists. Produced in collaboration with Congreso de Latinos Unidos, HACE (Hispanic Association of Contractors and Enterprises),and Raices Culturales Latinoamericanas.

Meet the Author Series
Presents Stephanie Elizondo Griest with her newest book Mexican Enough: My Life Between the Borderlines. In this series several local and international writers present their latest publications. The presentation is followed by an informal session of questions and answers that allow dialogue with the author.

Books and Crafts Fair
The Julia de Burgos Books and Crafts Store hosts the largest outdoor Annual Latino Books and Crafts Fair in the region. Children are treated to workshops and storytelling whileadults listen to literary lectures by renowned Latino authors, attend book signings, find bargains, and treat themselves to handmade jewelry and crafts.This year the fair will feature writer and winner of several awards Frances Negron-Mutaner introducing the book Sovereign Acts.

Facing Freedom is a selection of portraits of individuals who have made the decision to take their freedom into their own hands. Hernandez hops across islands, oceans and continents to find (s)heroes of marginalized communities who have liberated themselves no matter their condition. She celebrates them as her inspiration and through her mixed-media works shares their example as an inspiration to all.
